Kindergarten is going well. Our only issue is snack... there is none. Which seems so wrong- that sentence should not even be said aloud- "The kindergarteners don't get snack this year." Wow- what has this world come to??? isn't snack and recess what kindergarten is all about? ;) isn't that the part those little guys look forward to each day? It seems especially wrong because it is such a long day- Ben gets on the bus at 8:00, eats lunch at 11:30, and doesn't get home until 4:15. I can't even make it from 11:30 to 4 without a snack!
We've inquired and asked, without trying to be THOSE parents- but the response seems flimsy- something about too many required instructional minutes and they couldn't work it into the schedule???
hmmh. so i guess all that's left is to be one of THOSE parents, the kind of parent i never thought i'd be-- going to the principal after only 2 weeks of school with a complaint!
barry says the kids need to organize, set up a sit-in, demand snacks! i told him i didn't think kindergarteners could do a "sit-in," i'm not sure sitting is their forte' just yet.

Even K&B get to have snacks! Their school day is from 7:40 to 2:40 and their in 3rd & 5th grade. You can't tell me that there isn't time for a snack in kindergarten - that's just crazy. I'm with Barry stage a sit-in! Poster idea: No more coloring shapes with out some goldfish!
Oops I just saw the poll - guess I'll pipe in there too!
