Wow! Our little guy is a big 'ol "2" today! He had a nice little birthday party on Saturday with family and a small play date party with his friends last week. There are lots of new Thomas the Train things, John Deere tractors and Snoopy paraphernalia (all of Sam's new found interests)around the house- which came in handy keeping both the boys occupied today since it was a snow day for Ben. We made him a snoopy cake and I heard the biggest squeal when he opened a set of OLD snoopy sheets from G'ma and G'pa (they're so old they used to be mine and Tim's!) You probably wouldn't know this unless you were looking for a Snoopy toy- or Snoopy anything- for a two year old who's fallen in love with Snoopy, but it is impossible to find anything Snoopy since Charles Schultz died in 2007! ...at the last minute Wendy's happy meal came through! - They had snoopy toys and Sam is positively pleased with his little Snoopy bobble-head!
Some of our new favorite phrases we hear from Sam most often are:
Mo mo Frofy 'gin (Read Frosty again)
mo mulk (more milk)
Noopni! (Snoopy)
Charlie Gown (Charlie Brown)
No, Ben! Mine! (No Ben! Mine!)
_______ are you? (Where are you, _____ (Ben, snoopy, tractor)
sasa cau (Santa Claus)
rurof (Rudolph)
_____mi myew (take _____ with me.)
Our favorite is when you've tried but still can't understand him and he gets right in your face and repeats it slower and louder, with a look that says, "hey, dumby, I'm spellin' out the big words for ya here!"
There are a few more "2"-like fits, but on the whole, he's still a laid back guy. He's doing pretty well getting down the role of little brother. He can snatch a toy so fast you don't even see him do it! If he hears someone say, "sorry" he just assumes it's someone telling him to tell his brother/playmate that he's sorry, but he usually follows that with a hug.
